About this world premiere play:

History through a modern lens: female authorship, climate anxiety, and the power of creation in a collapsing world.

In the frozen summer of 1816—one of history’s most extreme climate events—Lord Byron invites a scandalous circle of lovers, liars, poets and storytellers to his villa in Switzerland for a weekend of sex, drugs and monster revelations.

Among them: Percy Shelley, his lover Mary Godwin, her stepsister Claire Clairmont, and Dr. Polidori.

Byron issues a challenge: write a horror story.

What follows is the birth of Frankenstein—and the rise of Mary Shelley.
